2020 Wrap-up and 2021 Plans
Welp, here we are at the end of the year! I thought, as a way of doing a bit of a wrap-up of the amount of books I’d read this year, I’d select a few of my favourites, in case anyone wanted a quick run-down. Please do click through to my full reviews if you wanted explanation for them!
(These are in the order I read them, not ranked by favourite-ness. 12 because months in a year?? And also I couldn’t narrow it down to 10.)
Definitely there were lots more really good books I read this year, but these were the ones that took hold and WOULD NOT let go months later!
Now, onto 2021 - which I keep by the way typing as 20201 because my brain apparently is bad at processing numbers.
I plan to continue going with book reviews, but in a less structured way. Instead, every week I will take stock of what I’ve read. If that number is 0 books, then so be it! That’s okay. It’ll take some of the pressure off of myself to finish quickly.
And, in the spirit of getting ready, here are some of my most-anticipated releases for 2021! (Again, in no particular order)
Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee
One Last Stop by Casey Mcquiston
The Unbroken by C.L. Clark
She Who Became The Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
A Dark and Starless Forest by Sarah Hollowell
The Witness For The Dead by Katherine Addison
The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna
Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell
The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri
Fireheart Tiger by Aliette de Bodard
Under The Whispering Door by TJ Klune
I will, er, try to hit all twelve of these in 2021. I am sometimes not great at keeping on top of new releases (as you can probably tell from my list of favourites).
See you all next year!
