Week 35
Somehow we are both caught in the hottest week of the year, and yet also barrelling full force towards fall. This feels nearly impossible to be true.
This week: DEAR SENTHURAN by Akwaeke Emezi, REAPER MAN by Terry Pratchett
Week 34
I’m branching out, a little, maybe. I’m going to start trying to include more of the books I read, even if they’re not “serious” reads, because seriously, who gives a flying fuck about that?
This week: Across The Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire; The Henchmen of Zenda by K.J. Charles
Week 33
So I took two weeks off work, and while I’ve been running around regardless, it is genuinely wild how much that frees up time! I’ve done so much reading!
This week: SHE WHO BECAME THE SUN by Shelley Parker-Chan and THE GAME by Linsey Miller
Week 32
God it’s??? August??? Somehow???
I feel like these intros are always just me being confused about the passage of time, but that’s a fairly consistent mood for me tbh. Anyway, it’s my birthday soon so…yay?
This week: THREE SEEKING STARS by Avi Silver and JURASSIC PARK by Michael Crichton
Week 31
Here we go again! This time, I’m ahead of the game and scheduling it in advance - the pros of reading novellas and short books, I suppose.
This week: MOVING PICTURES by Terry Pratchett
Week 30
So this blog post is….late.
However, due to the magic of the internet, I can make it look not-late!
I think.
This week: IN THE RAVENOUS DARK by A.M. Strickland
Week 29
Where does time like…go.
Like I realize time is fake and the pandemic has only made this worse but! Somehow it is both mid-July AND I only managed to read one short little book this week! Gah!
This week: GUARDS! GUARDS! by Terry Pratchett
Week 27
How is it…July already. I mean, obviously, the passage of time, but also, jesus h. christ. Thinking of everyone dealing with the unprecedented heatwave right now.
Reviews may be slightly slower as we get into Camp NaNo, which, as per Twitter, I am attempting to do…calmly. Stay tuned.
This week: FOR THE WOLF by Hannah Whitten and SORROWLAND by Rivers Solomon
Week 26
So we’re….halfway through the year??? Can that possibly be right??? God damn.
This week: THE JASMINE THRONE by Tasha Suri and PYRAMIDS by Terry Pratchett
Week 25
Only one book this week, instead of two…trying to be okay with that pace. As I said (maybe?) at the beginning of this year, I’m trying to hold myself less to a certain pace of reading, but it still stings when I fall behind it. Partially because there’s always just SO many books I want to read!
This week: Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
